BELOVED ~ noun ~  the simple act of existing, living and being in your truth is the ultimate, most radical act of love.

To celebrate our one-year anniversary as Creators in Residence at Arnolfini, we took over the gallery’s top floor foyer and Gallery 5 for three months to showcase our exhibition BE[LOVED]. Inspired by Arnolfini’s main exhibition, ADORE by Garry Fabien Miller, and by the themes of our work from six years prior, we invited our community of young creatives to share their dreams for the space.

We commissioned three of our artists to create new work and exhibit in the Arnolfini sharing their radical reimaginings for the world we live in under the theme of BELOVED.

The exhibition was part retrospective and part celebration of the talent inherent in Rising’s community. This successful exhibition was a visible example of the greatness that can come from giving young people agency and inviting them into established institutions.
